J&B MET 2012 MADE DIFFERENT!

 J&B MET

MADE DIFFERENT

All roads led to Kenilworth once again this year for the annual J&B met. Made different being the theme for this year, lovers of fashion and horses found themselves in their masses showing off just how different they could be.

This is my second year attending the J&B, and every year I come home asking myself the same question. “What is the purpose of attending the Met when I have little attraction to either horses or mainstream fashion for that matter?” But the answer always comes over me in a reliving soothe as I kick off the high platform shoes that also seem to be an almost annual event with my feet too.  “I love people” I am inspired by people; they are my attraction to the J&B met. Weather it be the alcohol consumption that allows the free flowing of love among the masses or not, I enjoy the spirit they exude.

Being different means you are bold. You are not afraid to be unlike no other. There is no trend to follow.

Like a child in candy shop!

The creativity was diverse and in abundance. All the colours, the shapes, the styles of expression and the friendliness of the people excited me.
In addition to all the exploring, I spotted two friendly faces from “the other side of the grass.” Gift Gwe, who came 2nd in the Idols competition 7years ago and Mr. South Africa finalist Zane Mandisi Maqetuka were out about about working the crowds. They too found the experience inspiring and shared plans for the future. Gwe has a new single out. Download it for free from his Facebook. Maqetuka is one of the Mr. South Africa finalists and will be taking part in the competition on the 17th of March in Johannesburg. Tickets to the event are available at computicket.

To end the day off I came across a gentleman wearing a t-shirt that had me smiling all the way to my car.
